Fahd Ahmed is an experienced industry executive with over 15 years in the industry. This includes almost a decade at Majedie Asset Management where he was responsible for co-ordinating operations across several funds, with a primary focus on the Majedie Tortoise Fund (a long/short equity fund). Prior to his time at Majedie Fahd worked at Black Ant Investment Management where he managed fund operations for a multi-asset long/short fund. Fahd delivers institutional-grade investment operations and has worked closely with an extensive range of industry specialists and providers. Fahd holds the IOC, IMC designation and is a CFA Charterholder.
Chris Reid has over 20 years of capital markets experience spanning across well-regarded institutions. Chris managed the Majedie UK Income Fund from its inception in December 2011 until he stepped down in June 2018 (generating a total return of 140%, 14.4% CAGR, +52% relative outperformance, with AUM growing from GBP1mn seed to GBP1.2bn) and was also a co-manager on two other funds: the Majedie UK Focus fund (2012-18) and the Majedie Tortoise Fund (2008-11). Prior to being a fund manager, Chris spent eight years as a top-ranked sell-side analyst covering European Airlines and Transport/Leisure at CSFB and Deutsche Bank, winning numerous awards for his stockpicking during this period. Before the City, he spent 5 years at PA Consulting Group working on businesses worldwide, focused on corporate performance improvement. He is passionate about understanding what happens underneath the bonnet in businesses and using this understanding to deliver investment results for his clients. Chris holds a MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University (1992-95), an MBA from London Business School (2000-01) and additionally the Masters in Finance from Cambridge University (2018-19).
Thameema's background is in sell-side research where she counts over 10 years of experience, covering a multitude of sectors including European Beverages, Food and Retail at ING through Moodys Analytics, while tracking the Textile, Manufacturing and Diversified sectors at Capital Alliance, Sri Lanka. Thameema joined Iguana in summer 2019 as a co-founder and is primarily responsible for integrating quantitative findings on stocks into the research process, in addition to conducting investment research. Thameema is passionate about ESG and consumer stocks, with an eye for valuation. Thameema holds a Masters in Finance with Distinction from Cambridge University (2018-19), a BA in Business Management (2012) and is an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (2012).
Wilton was a highly ranked sell-side analyst covering the Telecoms and Media sectors over 20 years of experience. Wilton was widely regarded as the ‘go to’ analyst in a number of specialist areas, including the satellite sector, which he covered globally for many years. His approach is best described as ‘often-contrarian but based on fundamentals’. He draws on twenty years of experience, including two years on the BAML Special Situations desk. Notable calls: the ultra-Bearish, and prescient, series of notes on SES and Eutelsat, the first note on the Street about Intelsat’s spectrum value (10x share price move), and the anti-consensus downgrade on Vodafone ahead of its dividend cut (March 2019).
